Cancer awareness and
Prevention programmes conducted by a team of doctors of Swami Vivekanand
Hospital And Research Centre, Latur with an aim to reduce risk and spot the
signs and symptoms at early stage so that can be cured. Superintendent of
SVHARC Dr. Meera Nagaonkar said that the task before them is to provide
information and support to those already infected by the disease. The dire need
of infected patients is physiological support that works as a miracle to heal
physical wounds. During her lecture she put fourth a number of success stories
of cancer patients.
She gave information
needed to understand the deadly disease and an opportunity to discuss freely.
Though it is horrible, steps can be taken to reduce the risk. She also gave
advices on fitness and diet as well. She insisted on keeping themselves aloof
from alcohol and smoking addiction. Through a PPT presentation she focused on
importance of Vegetarian Diet and appeal everyone to strictly adhere to healthy
life routine and regular check up of any unwanted clot on body. At the end she
spoke briefly about modern cancer treatments available in hospitals.
Earlier in the morning on
the same day she delivered a guiding lecture on ‘Psychological and
Physiological Changes Occur in Adolescent Age’ for teenage girls. Her lecture
is an instalment in the lecture series arranged in the memory of Late Shri
Keshavrao Deshmukh, the founder of SSM.
